Farever is a cooperative action role-playing game developed and published by Shiro Games, the studio known for titles such as Northgard, Wartales, and Dune: Spice Wars. Released in Steam Early Access in May 2026, the game combines open-world exploration, dungeon crawling, character progression, crafting, and online cooperative gameplay within a vibrant fantasy setting.
The adventure takes place in Siagarta, a large fantasy realm filled with ancient ruins, dangerous monsters, hidden treasures, rival factions, and mysterious locations waiting to be discovered. Unlike many RPGs built around a single chosen hero narrative, Farever presents players as ordinary adventurers forging their own paths through the world.
Exploration is one of the game's major focuses. Players can travel across forests, floating regions, mountains, caves, lakes,
temples, and underground areas while searching for resources, quests, dungeons, and rare equipment. Movement mechanics are more dynamic than traditional MMORPGs, allowing players to climb cliffs, glide through the air, dive underwater, and navigate vertical environments.
Combat takes place in real time and emphasizes mobility, weapon mastery, and teamwork. Rather than locking players into rigid combat styles, the game encourages experimentation through different weapons, builds, and specializations. Combat encounters range from small enemy camps to large dungeon bosses requiring coordination and strategy.
Character progression is built around classes, equipment, skills, and weapon systems. The Early Access version launched with four core classes and more than one hundred weapon skills. Players can customize their playstyle by combining weapons, gear, abilities, and specializations that suit solo adventures or cooperative group content.
Crafting and gathering also play important roles. Various jobs allow players to collect resources, create equipment, produce consumables, and support allies. This progression system gives economic value to exploration and encourages long-term character development.
Co-op gameplay is a central pillar of Farever. Players can form parties and tackle dungeons, bosses, and world activities together. Many encounters dynamically scale according to party size, making the game accessible for both solo players and groups.
The visual style combines colorful fantasy environments with a bright, approachable art direction. Rather than pursuing realism, the game focuses on creating a world that feels adventurous, welcoming, and full of discovery.
As an Early Access title, Farever continues to receive updates. Planned additions include new regions, classes, level-cap increases, guild systems, seasonal events, bosses, dungeons, and expanded progression systems.
