Divinity: Original Sin 2 is Larian Studios' acclaimed party-based RPG and the direct predecessor to Baldur's Gate 3. Armour is split into physical and magical pools, so party composition and targeting matter. Teleportation, high ground, and clever use of consumables often matter more than raw stats.

Freedom is the defining feature. Talk to animals with Pet Pal, pickpocket merchants, steal paintings, persuade or intimidate your way past guards, or simply kill everyone in a town and loot it. Nearly every NPC can be fought, every object moved, and most quests have multiple solutions the game never signposts.

The campaign runs 80–100+ hours across four acts, from Fort Joy and the Reaper's Coast to the Nameless Isle and the city of Arx. Full voice acting, a reactive narrator, and a reputation system mean choices ripple forward in ways that are easy to miss on a first playthrough.

Multiplayer supports up to four players in drop-in/drop-out co-op, including split-screen, with each player free to pursue their own goals—or sabotage the party. Game Master mode lets one player run tabletop-style campaigns for others, and the Definitive Edition rework expanded Act 4, rebalanced combat, and added Story mode for players who want the narrative without the difficulty.
